This publication is a result of our long-time desire to publish ideas and original research papers presented at RMRL. As the first work in this series, we are delighted to publish Sherin Someetharan's lecture "Comparative Iconography of the Temples of Tamil Nadu and Cambodia" which she delivered on 28 August 2024 as part of Prof. Anandakrishnan Endowment Lecture series.
Sherin Someetharan IRS is a bureaucrat by profession serving as Additional Commissioner of Customs and GST and currently working as the Member Secretary of Advisory Council, Ministry of Finance, Government of Tamil Nadu.
With an academic background in History, she is an avid researcher of Indian art, architecture, culture, and linguistics, exploring their nuances through comparative and scholarly analogies. An avid photographer since her college days, she uses photography as a medium to document heritage and artistic traditions, often showcasing her work through curated exhibitions.
Sherin is committed to mentoring students, guiding them in academic pursuits and competitive exam preparation. A mother of two, she actively pursues her interests in organic farming, gardening and zero-waste living.
